What is the logo ?

What is the LOGO?

A Logo is a design symbolizing one's organization. It is a design that is used by an organization for its letterhead, advertising material, and signs as an emblem by which the organization can easily be recognized also called logotype. The logotype is a graphic representation or symbol of a company name, trademark, abbreviation, etc., often uniquely designed for ready recognition.

"Simpler is better" is a good saying for the world's most popular and successful companies, especially in this busy country where you have only 2 to 3 seconds to impress a customer. So your company's or organization's logo should be stylish and practicable enough to make a good impression in front of customers.

To build a good and charming logo, you should very careful about production cost. More detailed and colorful logo designs are harder to reproduce and they of course cost more. You also have to consider the size that your logo is going to be used at. The perfect logo design will look great on a signboard as well as on a business card or on a pen for example.

Now a very important thing is to determine what types of logo you should use. There are several types of logos. It is almost the same process as selecting the name. First you have to determine what your logo should say about your company. There are many different ways to represent a company.

The Types of The Logo:

When you want to make a logo you should have some basic knowledge about the logo. There are seven types of logs.

Lettermark
Wordmark
Pictorial mark
Abstract mark
Combination mark
Emblem logo
Mascots logo

Lettermark Logos:

Lettermarks are logos that consist of letters, usually brand initials. Remember there is another name of the lettermark is Monogram Logos. A lettermark is a typography-based logo that’s comprised of a few letters, usually a company’s initials. You will better understand this like IBM, CNN, HP, HBO. They’ve each turned to use their initials for brand-identification purposes. So it makes perfect sense for them to use monograms. We say "NASA" and it is quite simple than saying "National Aeronautics and Space Administration". Here "NASA" is an example of Lattermarks Logo. So the Latteemark logo is all about simplicity.

Wordmark Logos:

When your company name or brand name is limited and short like -"Google", "Cocacola", wordmark logo should be used. It focuses on the entire company or brand name and with the help of good topography it truly makes a good impression at the visitors.

To work with wordmark logos- your logos background and font style and color should build in such a way that represents your company. Like - if you have a fashion design company then the wordmark logo should've clean and colorful and with effective style.

Pictorialmark Logo:

When a company use symbol or icon as a logo for the company is called the pictorialmark logo. This is a unique logo for this company. Some famous and largest companies use pictorialmark logo like-apple, twitter, Facebook. When a person sees this logo they immediately remember the company name.

When the brand or the company is big then the use of the pictorialmark logo is a good way to impress customers.
For the pictorialmark logo the symbol you want to use should be related to the company or brand.

Abstract Logo:

Abstract Logo is one type of pictorial logo. Instead of only an icon or symbol, there is a brand name with a related symbol this represents the company strictly and explores some knowledge about the company.

Mascots Logo:

Mascots logo is a logo with a character that represents the company or cartoon character or design which creates a funny and happy mode in the audience. Basically food and children base companies use this type of logo.

Basically the logo character will be the famous person of the company or some cartoons. Think of them as the ambassador for your business. Famous mascots include the Kool-Aid Man, KFC’s Colonel, and Planter’s Mr. Peanut. Mascots are great for companies that want to create a wholesome atmosphere by appealing to families and children.

Combinationmark Logo:

When a logo is created with the mix of lattermark or wordmark and mascots, pictorialmark or abstractmark then it is called the combinationmark logo.

With both the text and icon or mascot working together to reinforce your brand. With a combination mark, people will also begin to associate your name with your pictorial mark or mascot right away!
